Pink and green

Just outside USC’s Leavey Library:

I like the springtime colors, even if it is a trash can.

Balls in the reflection pool

Posted by Will Entrekin on May 29, 2008

This was one of my last days at USC. I was getting a soda when I noticed there were people in the giant reflection pool in front of the library.

The giant reflection pool was, at times, a bit like a watering hole; a spot to rest, and watch, and often, socialize.

So here are people playing in it:

Those’re some big balls.

Indelible

Posted by Will Entrekin on May 25, 2008

There are in life certain moments that last through memory and time to become forever, or as close to as we ever achieve, anyway.

This is one of mine:

I may visit USC again, but I’ll never see it like this for the last time.

Macbeth

Posted by Will Entrekin on May 3, 2008

Quite a while ago, I had an idea for a movie: a new adaptation of Macbeth, shot period, complete with Scottish castle and countryside, and starring the likes of Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Ewan Macgregor, and Anthony Hopkins. A big-budget spectacle of murder, politics, and mayhem.

I think it’d be awesome.

I wrote a script while at USC, or most of one, at any rate, and in order to do so, I made the following short video. Cobbled together and amateur, of course, but still kinda fun. It helped me wrap my head around the project.

So I thought I’d share it:

The fountain in full

Posted by Will Entrekin on April 15, 2008

These’ll be the last in this series; I’ve got no other pictures of the fountain.

It’s a rather unremarkable fountain, now I think of it. What really counts is how you see it.

Where I am when I’m at school

Posted by Will Entrekin on March 27, 2008

My classroom is in Waite-Philips Hall at USC. It’s a thick brick building that would be more impressive were it not right next to the Von Kleinsmid Center’s huge chime tower (there are chimes in it, I confirmed).

I didn’t even turn up the contrast. Much.

A somewhat skewed worldview

Posted by Will Entrekin on March 14, 2008

Last semester, my classroom was in the Von Kleinsmid center on campus, which is the building with the big globe on top. Among other things, VKC also houses the political science department (and I think the international policy and relations department, as well). My hope is that, in years to come, we’ll realize even more how important international diplomacy is for our globalized society.

Not necessarily how all Americans see the world.

Towering Beacon of Higher Education

Posted by Will Entrekin on March 2, 2008

I believe, but am not certain, there are bells in this tower. All I really know is that it is certainly the most distinctive feature of our campus.

You can see the world from just about anywhere. Just look up.
