Quite a while ago, I had an idea for a movie: a new adaptation of Macbeth, shot period, complete with Scottish castle and countryside, and starring the likes of Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Ewan Macgregor, and Anthony Hopkins. A big-budget spectacle of murder, politics, and mayhem.
I think it’d be awesome.
I wrote a script while at USC, or most of one, at any rate, and in order to do so, I made the following short video. Cobbled together and amateur, of course, but still kinda fun. It helped me wrap my head around the project.
Several years back, my cousin composed a brief composition I fell in love with the moment he played it. There’s something about its trill that just gets me every damned time.
So, this Christmas, I got him to play it for me. We busted out the old guitar, which required some tuning (so give it a moment; this is a good minute of watching some dude you don’t know tune), and you can hear our brothers talking property and taxes and stuff in the background, but this here’s Christmas eve at the Entrekins’.
